The Big Sur International Marathon is a point-to-point course run on scenic CA Highway 1 from Big Sur to Carmel the last Sunday each April. Towering redwoods, crashing waves, coastal mountains and verdant pastures are featured on this bucket list course. The centerpiece of the course is the iconic Bixby Bridge, located at the halfway point of the race. This event is AIMS member.

The 21-Miler enjoys the same course as the marathon, minus the first five miles. This is the perfect distance for those not yet ready for the full 26.2-mile marathon and welcomes both runners and fitness walkers. At the start, entrants are offered a short yoga/stretching session. The 21-Miler includes the climb up Hurricane Point and also crosses the iconic Bixby Bridge. The event is open to 1,000 participants.

The 11-Miler begins at the rustic Grimes Ranch on CA Highway 1. The event features stunning coastal views and welcomes both runners and walkers. The race is open to 1,600 entrants and is a great venue to share with friends and family.

The 12K is an out-and-back course from the Marathon finish that includes a loop through the beautiful Point Lobos State Natural Reserve, the only event to tour this amazing place. The 12K is a great event for friends and family of those running a longer distance race as it provides an opportunity to run or walk a 12K while waiting for their runner to finish.
