The Okinawa Marathon is a comprehensive marathon event that includes a competitive division officially recognized by the Japan Athletics Federation, a general division with citizen participation, and a high school/general 10km road race division held simultaneously. The aim is to contribute to the improvement of competitiveness and the promotion of sports in Okinawa Prefecture, as well as to greatly contribute to the economic development of Okinawa Prefecture, which aims to be a tourism-oriented prefecture, and the Chubu region.
