Der Muttenz Marathon ist ein Landschaftslauf und führt hauptsächlich über Muttenzer Gemeindegebiet auf Asphalt- und Naturstrassen, durch die nahegelegenen Wälder, Wiesen und Rebberge.
Er vermittelt so den Läufern auf einer attraktiven, herausfordernden und sehr abwechslungsreichen Strecke die wunderschöne Landschaft im nahe gelegenen Natur- und Erholungsgebiet von Basel.
